How can I download/update the app?

The app for iPhone and iPad is available directly on the App Store, and the app for Android phones and tablets is available on the Google play store as well as on Amazon.

Does the app for iPhone and iPad work with any version of iOS?

The app is optimized for iOS versions later than 7.0. If you have an earlier operating system you can download an earlier version of the app on the App Store. If you have an operating system earlier than 5.0, please download the JesusLifeTogether Light app.

Can I do all the same things with the app that I can do when I access from a browser?

The app gives you full access to all the books, articles, videos, and audio materials that are on the website. It supports searching, the WithYouNow page, Today page, and Prayer Journal. Some features, such as the bulletin board, are currently unavailable on the app.

Can I share an item from the app?

Yes, to share an item, tap the share icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Depending on the media and how you share it, you can send the title, a short description, and a link to most material in the app. The full text of letters, messages, and book chapters can be sent via email.

How can I stop emails?

Go to the Settings tab and select Stop Email Alerts. Enter the email address that you wish to unsubscribe from email notifications.

How can I stop receiving prayer reminders?

Go to the Settings tab. Turn off the switch labeled “Prayer Reminders”. If this switch is not visible you need to log in to your account first. On Android, select the option to Stop Email Alerts in Settings.

What is a prayer reminder?

This is a notification that comes as an alert to your device or to your email. It can either remind you to pray for a specific prayer entry you choose, or it can select randomly from your list of entries. You can setup multiple prayer reminders for different times of day.

What is the difference between a prayer entry and a daily journal entry?

A prayer entry was designed to contain a brief name and related details. These entries can then be delivered to your device as a reminder, or added to a daily journal entry. The daily journal entry provides an area for longer writing  and you can make a new entry as often as you like. These entries cannot be sent as reminders.


How do I log in to the app?

Go to the Settings tab, and choose Login. On Android, go to settings from the overflow menu in the top right corner. You may also see the login screen when you try to access the prayer journal or markers (Favorites on Android). Enter your user name and password. If you would like to stay logged in even if the app is closed, select the “Stay logged in” checkbox.

How can I manage my account from the app?

From the Settings tab, select Account. On Android, go to settings in the menu in the top right corner of the app. Log in and then you can choose to edit your account and change your email and/or password. Options to stop email alerts and prayer reminders are also under Settings.

Why do I need to log in?

Your account keeps your Prayer Journal and Markers personalized and secure. To use the prayer journal feature of the app, and to save markers to items that you want to return to later, you need to log in.

Do I have to have an account to use the app?

No, but if you want to use the prayer journal or save markers to favorite items, you must create an account. To create an account, you need to provide an email address and password. Your email is only used for messages you choose to receive, and to send you account-related information.

How do I change my password?

Log in under the Settings tab. Choose Edit Account. Enter your current password and your new one. Confirm your new password and tap Done. You will receive email confirmation of your new password.

What does the “stay logged in” checkbox do?

Selecting this checkbox assures that you stay logged in indefinitely, even as the app closes and is relaunched.

I forgot my account password. How can I get it?

Select Account in the Settings tab. Enter your account user name or email address. Then select "Forgot Password". You will recieve an email with your password.

How do I change my email address/user name?

Log in under the Settings tab. Choose Edit Account. Edit the field displaying your email address/user name. Tap Done.

How can I delete or cancel my account?

In the Settings tab, under Account, tap Edit Account. Enter your password and select Delete Account at the bottom of the screen. The prayer entries, prayer reminders, and markers connected with the account will all be removed from the device.

iOS App Features

The font size on the app is hard to read, can I change it?

To change the font size of the reading material in the app, go to the Settings tab and select Font Size. You can choose a font size and see a preview of the adjusted appearance. To make the buttons and titles in the app even easier to read, it often helps to choose bold font and button borders options available in your device settings.

Do the videos have closed captioning?

Many of the videos have subtitles available. To turn them on, go to the Settings tab and select Language. There is a switch at the bottom of the screen labeled Show Video Subtitles. If you are in a language other than English, subtitles display automatically when available. You can also view lyrics for the songs and transcripts for many of the audio teachings by tapping the Show Text button in the bottom left corner of the screen while a file is playing. If the Show Text button does not appear, there is no text file available for the audio.

Can I download the material in the app?

Much of the reading material can be downloaded in the app, including Letters, Messages, and individual book chapters. Due to their size, videos and audio material are not available for download on the app. However, you can download all of these from the website. Downloading is currently unavailable on the Android app.

How do I download items to my iPhone or iPad?

While viewing the item you wish to download, tap the sharing icon in the upper right corner of the app. Choose the option to “download to markers”. The item will be saved under the markers tab in the app. Note that downloading pictures, movies, and audio is not currently supported.

Can I view items when I am not online?

If you download items to your markers while online, you can view them later while offline. Also, your list of prayer entries is available for viewing while offline.

Can I change the order of the tabs in the app?

Yes. Go to the More tab and select Edit in the upper right hand corner. You can change which tabs are present on the main screen and their order.

Is there a way to change the appearance of the app for reading at night?

In the Settings tab, there is a switch for Night Mode, which displays a dark background appearance for the app.

How can I change the language of the app?

There are two parts of the app that can change language. The buttons and titles change language based on the language and region setting on your device. However, to change the language of the media content, such as books and letters, go to the Settings tab in the app and select Language. Here you can choose between the available languages. Please note that while we are frequently updating the content with new additions, English is the language which displays the largest number of items. Also, audio teaching, audio books, and music are available only in their English form.

Can I swipe to move between chapters?

Yes. Go to the Settings tab and turn on the switch labeled “Swipe Between Chapters”.
